Terms & Conditions
Last updated: October 2026. The German version is legally binding.
§ 1 Scope
These Terms apply to all contracts between Cloudzaro and the customer about (a) the Cloudzaro Service (DNS and CAPTCHA services by subscription) and (b) domain registration via Cloudzaro. The contract language is German. We do not store the contract text separately; you receive the order confirmation and invoice by e-mail.
§ 2 Cloudzaro Service
(1) Cloudzaro offers DNS hosting including DNS DDoS protection and DNSSEC as well as a CAPTCHA solution. The exact scope is defined in the respective service description.
(2) Fair use: unlimited DNS queries, max. 100 domains with max. 100 DNS records each, max. 50,000 CAPTCHA challenges per month, 10 CAPTCHAs with max. 10 websites each.
(3) With the Cloudzaro Service, any domain can be managed regardless of where it is registered (external domains).
§ 3 Domain Registration
(1) Cloudzaro registers, renews and transfers domains in the name and on behalf of the customer via an accredited registrar partner with the respective registry. The registration terms and policies of the respective registry (e.g. DENIC for .de, ICANN policies for generic TLDs) apply additionally and are referenced before ordering. The customer is registered as domain holder and is responsible for complete and correct holder data.
(2) The subject of this contract is the domain only (registration, renewal, transfer). For domains registered with Cloudzaro, DNS management and CAPTCHA are provided without a subscription as a free, voluntary extra. These extras are not part of the contract, there is no entitlement to them and Cloudzaro may change, limit or discontinue them at any time; the domain itself is not affected and can be pointed to other nameservers at any time. External domains require the Cloudzaro Service (§ 2).
(3) The availability display for a domain is non-binding. A domain contract is concluded only upon successful registration or transfer. Cloudzaro does not guarantee that an ordered domain can be registered or is free of third-party rights. The customer warrants that the domain does not infringe third-party rights or applicable law.
(4) A domain's term is 12 months from registration or transfer and is billed annually in advance. When ordering, and at any time in the dashboard, the customer decides whether the domain is renewed automatically for further 12 months or expires at the end of the term. Turning off automatic renewal counts as cancellation at the end of the term; changes are possible until the day before the renewal date. Cloudzaro informs the customer by e-mail in good time before each renewal or expiry about the date, the price and how to change the setting.
(5) Prices for registration, renewal and transfer are those of the price list at the time of ordering. If the costs of the registry or the registrar partner change, Cloudzaro may adjust the renewal price accordingly. The change is announced in text form at least seven days before it takes effect; the customer may cancel the contract or transfer the domain to another provider before then at no additional cost. The announcement points this out.
(6) The customer may transfer the domain to another provider at any time; the required auth code is available in the dashboard or on request. If a domain expires (automatic renewal turned off or cancelled) and is not transferred in time, Cloudzaro returns it to the registry or deletes it at the end of the term. In case of payment default, the domain may be deleted after the paid term; restoration is only possible under para. 8.
(7) As a domain is registered individually for the customer, a consumer's right of withdrawal expires upon successful registration if the consumer expressly agreed before ordering that Cloudzaro starts the registration before the withdrawal period ends and confirmed being aware that the right of withdrawal is lost upon complete performance (§ 356(4) BGB).
(8) A holder change (transfer of the domain to another person or company), where the registry charges for it, and the restoration of a deleted domain cannot be booked online. They are only available on request via support and subject to review by Cloudzaro; any costs are announced in advance. Address, phone number and e-mail of the holder can be changed free of charge in the dashboard at any time.
(9) Resellers / domain API: The customer may order domains via the domain API or the dashboard for third parties (end customers) and resell them at their own prices. The customer registers the end customer as holder with complete and correct data, obtains the end customer's consent to the transfer of the data to the registrar and registry, ensures that the holder's e-mail address reaches the end customer and is the end customer's first point of contact, including for abuse reports. Services ordered via the API are charged immediately to the saved card; renewals are subject to para. 4. The customer keeps API keys secret and is liable for their use; Cloudzaro may block keys in case of misuse.
§ 4 Prices and Payment Terms
(1) The Cloudzaro Service costs €3.99 per month incl. VAT. Domains are billed annually according to the price list. All prices include statutory VAT.
(2) Payment is made in advance by credit card via the payment provider Stripe; the saved card is charged at the start of each billing period. Invoices are sent by e-mail. The card can be changed in the dashboard at any time without ending the contract.
(3) In case of payment default, Cloudzaro may suspend access to the services after an unsuccessful payment reminder.
§ 5 Term and Cancellation of the Cloudzaro Service
(1) The Cloudzaro Service runs for an indefinite period. The customer can cancel at any time effective at the end of the already paid billing period – in the dashboard under "Subscription & Payment", via the cancellation form or in text form. In the logged-in dashboard the cancellation takes effect immediately. Cancellations without login (form, e-mail) are carried out after checking that they belong to the customer account; the time of receipt is decisive for the notice period. The cancellation and end date are confirmed by e-mail.
(2) Cloudzaro may terminate the contract with 30 days' notice to the end of a month. The right to extraordinary termination for good cause remains unaffected.
(3) Domains registered with Cloudzaro are separate contracts (§ 3) and are not affected by cancelling the Cloudzaro Service.
§ 6 Customer Obligations
The customer shall not use the services abusively or unlawfully (in particular not for spam, phishing, malware or infringing third-party rights) and shall keep access data secret. In case of justified suspicion of abuse, Cloudzaro may temporarily block affected records or services.
§ 7 Availability
Cloudzaro strives for high availability of the services. No guarantee for a specific availability is given.
§ 8 Liability
Cloudzaro is fully liable for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health. For slight negligence, Cloudzaro is only liable for breach of essential contractual obligations, limited to the foreseeable damage typical for the contract. For free extras (§ 3(2)), Cloudzaro is only liable for intent and gross negligence.
§ 9 Data Protection
Personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the GDPR. For domain registration, holder data is transmitted to the registrar partner and the registry as far as required for the registration.
§ 10 Final Provisions
The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods; for consumers this choice of law applies only insofar as mandatory consumer protection provisions of their country of residence are not withdrawn. Place of jurisdiction for merchants is the registered office of Cloudzaro.
§ 11 Right of Withdrawal for Consumers
Consumers have a statutory right of withdrawal of fourteen (14) days. No voluntary right of withdrawal is granted to entrepreneurs or businesses within the meaning of Section 14 of the German Civil Code (BGB). The following withdrawal policy therefore applies exclusively to consumers acting as private individuals within the meaning of Section 13 BGB.
Right of Withdrawal
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period shall be fourteen days from the day of conclusion of the contract.
To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us (Cloudzaro) of your decision to withdraw from this contract by means of a clear statement (e.g. a letter sent by post or an email).
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Consequences of Withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse all payments received from you without undue delay and no later than fourteen days from the day on which we receive notification of your withdrawal.
We will use the same means of payment for the reimbursement as you used for the original transaction, unless expressly agreed otherwise; in no case will you be charged any fees for this reimbursement.
If you requested that the services begin during the withdrawal period, you shall pay us an amount which is in proportion to what has been provided until the time you informed us of the exercise of the right of withdrawal, compared to the full scope of the services provided for in the contract.
